The commune of Avio in northern Italy is home to one of the region's most well-known medieval castles. Seen in this drone video by Alberto Ardit, the Castle of Avio is situated in Trentino, the southernmost of the two provinces that make up the Trentino-Alto-Adigio region of Italy. First mentioned in a document in the 11th century, the castle is distinguished by its three lines of walls and five tours. It is situated in a strategic position in the valley of the Adige River, Italy's second-longest waterway.
