The site begins at the Thurignin gorges, and integrates the Séran river up to the Cerveyrieu waterfall, in the communes of Artemare and Valromey-sur-Séran.

The area of the site extends over 13.49 ha.

The Pain de Sucre Waterfall is located in the town of Surjoux in Ain, very close to the Rhône. From Belgarde sur Valserine, head south on the D25 towards Grange de Bourg. Continue on the D991, then turn left on the D72, direction Surjoux. You will arrive at the edge of the Rhône where you will pass over a small bridge. You can park on the right just after the bridge in the Cascade car park. Here are the GPS coordinates of the parking lot: 46.020265, 5.807660.

From the car park where you can picnic if you wish, it will only take you 10 minutes to reach the waterfall on foot in an environment worthy of a film, passing under a huge train bridge, with a few ruins here and there to finally walking on the slippery rocks of the river bed.
