There are moments in sports where silence is the loudest form of respect.

And then there’s Chicago.

At Blackhawks games, the National Anthem isn’t quiet. It’s two minutes of clapping, cheering, and standing with 20,000 people who know exactly what it means.

The tradition dates back to 1980 after the Miracle on Ice and was cemented in 1991 during the All-Star Game as U.S. troops watched from overseas... Chicago showed them how we do it.

This weekend, we had the privilege of capturing that moment.

From inside the penalty box at the United Center, we flew one uninterrupted drone pass (no cuts, no speed ramps) just smooth piloting and clean audio to show what it feels like to stand (or fly) in the UC during the anthem.

With Wayne Messmer returning to sing on a night honoring the old stadium, it was a full-circle moment for Chicago hokey fans.
