Coral Princess - First Cruise Ship to Visit Melbourne in More Than 2 Years

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the normally popular port of Melbourne, Australia saw no cruise ships.  That long draught ended in September, 2022 with the arrival of the Coral Princess, and AirVuz contributor Gizmo Drones recorded the historic occasion with this excellent aerial video.  Launched in 2002, the Coral Princess is operated by Princess Cruises, a subsidiary of Carnival Corporation.  The ship has a length of 964 ft. (294 m) and displaces just under 92k gross tons.  It can carry up to 1,970 passengers in addition to a crew of 900.

BADGES THIS VIDEO HAS EARNED:

The Coral Princess is the first cruise ship to visit Melbourne in almost 3 years. It arrived at Station Pier last Thursday and departed 5pm today, Saturday 17th September 2022. More cruise ships are due from now on. I posted this video straight away as it may interest some people.

It was windy and wet today but it cleared up just as the ship was about to depart. I live close by and arrived just in time to capture these shots.

It is great to see cruise ships returning to Australian cities. The last time I filmed a cruise ship in Melbourne was early 2020.

I hope you like this video and thanks for watching, Brett - Gizmo Drones

Drone comment (despite music title): I used a DJI Mini3 Pro and it handled the wind very well although I noticed some slight jello in the footage and occasionally the horizon wasn't level due to wind. I also used a Freewell ND/PL filter.
