Curonian Spit

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

One of the distinctive features of the Baltic Sea coastline is the presence of spits, which are long sand dune islands that run alongside the shore.  Spits are created by river outflow and deposition patterns that are common in the Baltic Sea area but rare in most other parts of the world.  Contributor Whiteseagull used a drone to create an amazing aerial view of the the Curonian Spit off the coast of Lithuania, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
