DISCO DANCE - FPV HK Freestyle

Against my better judgement I risked the weather and went out this morning. Having been caught short and then experienced a huge rainstorm the last time I attempted to go out flying, I threw my inhabitations out of my 9th story bedroom window, and left my bed at 05:45 this morning.

I caught the first ferry (06:30) over to Discovery Bay and then took shelter for half hour or so whilst a quick shower made its merry way through. Up on the hillside and flying by 8-ish. Having broken a GoPro session last week, I honourably kept to the tradition, and broke the next, on it’s first outing - second/ third flight. Brilliant… Very lucky to remember to bring the RunCam as a backup, which proved itself rather well (apart from the sound). Alas the crash footage got corrupted in the err well, crash, unsurprisingly as I also smashed a motor clean in half, split the carbon arm it was attached to, snapped the Alien’s top plate, broke the TBS Unify VTX (the 3rd or 4th I have retired in total), the camera and it’s mounting. It was quite a thud, caused by my own fault, of putting a mountain between my goggle antenna and the quad’s vtx. Will stick to the RunCam, at least until I stop having very expensive crashes.

Apart from that early episode, it was a pretty awesome couple of hours, although very, very, very, very, very windy, but all good practice. (not my best flight footage, but good to record progress). Really craving for some tighter areas with smaller obstacles rather than massive mountains. Feeling a little tired of this vastly open area now. I wonder where to find abandoned factories/ industrial areas in reach of Central/ Wan Chai HK home.

Enjoy enjoy, trying to get better with recording the whole experience, not good in front of a camera is an understatement. (Progress, progress).
