Description: After spending a few years flying FC40, P3P, and P4P without a crash, it was finally my turn. I did a good job, hitting the very top of the tree, splitting one of the prop hubs, and pinballing down through the branches. The battery came out before hitting the ground so we missed the final act. I am lucky that it didn't get caught in the tree. As you can, see I was flying sideways and apparently slowly descending as I had checked the elevation of the tree before making the pass. It was my fault as I was probably holding the left stick slightly down as I was rotating. Even though collision avoidance was enabled, it doesn't work sideways if not in beginner or tripod mode. They wanted video as close to treetop as possible. I did come back after the drone was repaired and finished the job. It was actually better when the leaves were dropped.
