For example, the Carrizo Plain near San Luis Obispo in central California sees a pronounced transition to spring, a time when thousands upon thousands of wildflowers come to life. In the spring of 2017, heavy winter rainfall caused a somewhat rare phenomenon known as a "super bloom", which was skillfully captured via drone by top content creator and drone pilot Drone One Media.

After record setting rainfall fell during the winter of 2016-2017, the Carrizo Plain National Monument came to life with blankets of multi-colored wildflowers covering the hills and flat lands, attracting thousands of tourists to view the "Superbloom" in the spring of 2017.
