DT S2E4: Beautiful Hawaii Pt. 3: Running Out of Island

The quads are back in action on Season 2 of Drone Trippin! This season, a world-class crew of FPV pilots headlined by ZoeFPV, JohnnyFPV, SFPV, and FlyingBearFPV heads to Oahu, Hawaii to shred the island’s beautiful coastline, breathtaking cliffs, epic beach parks, and abandoned structures in between competition at the World Drone Racing Championships.

After three epic flying stops, the Drone Trippin crew arrives at the day's final destination in Episode 4: Beautiful Hawaii Pt. 3: Running Out of Island - and it doesn't disappoint. The lakeside setting is full of tree gaps, palms, and other surprises that keep the pilots on their toes and their quads in action.

He said it's an old dam. Johnny Schaer: Whoa. Colby Cubtola: This is it. This is the spot. First battery. Oh, [inaudible 00:00:21], right up. Ah, there's nothing to grip. We're gonna go to the lake. Zoe Stumbaugh: The lake? Colby Cubtola: Maybe take a jump in, cause I'm kind of hot now. Zoe Stumbaugh: [00:00:30] Hopefully when you say take a jump in you don't mean our quad copters, because - Colby Cubtola: We'll see - Zoe Stumbaugh: That's where my mind imagines. Colby Cubtola: Oh Johnny, look at those trees. Johnny Schaer: I was just looking at that, Dr. Seuss trees. Zoe Stumbaugh: I think we're on the wrong side [00:01:00] of the lake. Colby Cubtola: I think we need to go where those palm trees are. Johnny Schaer: We were at the palms earlier today, but - Zoe Stumbaugh: So much fun. Johnny Schaer: On the side of the ... Yeah, it was fun, but it was on the side of the road. Zoe Stumbaugh: Yeah. Johnny Schaer: Here it's really tropical, it's epic. Colby Cubtola: Johnny's got a palm tree fetish we've got to fill. Johnny Schaer: You've got that mountain in the background. Zoe Stumbaugh: Gotta get his palm tree fetish in. Johnny Schaer: What did you say? Colby Cubtola: Palm tree fetish. Johnny Schaer: A little bit. Colby Cubtola: I say we take the hike. So Jason's an air views pilot, he posted a bunch of awesome videos from Oahu. Glad to have his skills on hand here. Well - Jason: There are tons of pigs up in here. Colby Cubtola: Oh yeah? Jason: This is the spot [00:01:30] to see pigs. Colby Cubtola: They're like boars right? Jason: Yup. Colby Cubtola: With like tusks? Jason: Sure. Zoe Stumbaugh: Boars, that's below on interest of [inaudible 00:01:36] Jason: I can just see a boa constrictor popping out of nowhere and mauling you. Zoe Stumbaugh: There's definitely jaguars here. Jason: I've seen a couple, so far. Zoe Stumbaugh: Theoretically. Colby Cubtola: Are there apes? Zoe Stumbaugh: Dude, this has been a massive hike, are you kidding, like oh my gosh. Colby Cubtola: It's a 35, 40 minute hike, but it's worth it. Johnny Schaer: It's one of the most beautiful I've ever been, for sure. With the lake right there, it's really nice. Colby Cubtola: These trees are really nice too. Johnny Schaer: There's a lot of gaps in here, stoked to fly [00:02:00] here. Colby Cubtola: Go for it. Johnny Schaer: I'm gonna circle around, you got me? Colby Cubtola: Yeah. Zoe Stumbaugh: I got you. Johnny Schaer: You turn here. Okay, come back around. Lined up. You guys [00:03:00] got me? Jason: So here ... If you guys come right over the top of that, that would look mental. Colby Cubtola: Oh we can go to the top, if we're going through that gap, that'd be ... Alright, Johnny? Johnny Schaer: Yeah I'll just follow you, do whatever you want. Whoa. Colby Cubtola: Don't [00:04:00] come over to [00:04:30] my house, boy, it's my spot. Johnny Schaer: What? Colby Cubtola: This little shack over here? Check it out. Jason: That [00:05:00] was sick. Zoe Stumbaugh: Oh my god, it was such an amazing day, wasn't it guys? Colby Cubtola: Yeah. Johnny Schaer: It was a good spot, wasn't it? Colby Cubtola: What, three, four crazy spots? Zoe Stumbaugh: Woo! Johnny Schaer: Palm trees. Colby Cubtola: Cliff diving. Johnny Schaer: A little bit of everything. Colby Cubtola: This is a cool spot though, with the lake in the background. Some tree gaps. Johnny Schaer: Yeah, really pretty. Colby Cubtola: Yeah I was chasing you almost the, [00:05:30] like, for half the pack. You know ... Johnny Schaer: I didn't even know you were following me. Colby Cubtola: Where you were doing the little knife edge, I think I got a couple sick shots. Johnny Schaer: Nice. Colby Cubtola: You guys actually fly through this little house here? Zoe Stumbaugh: No. Johnny Schaer: Nah. Colby Cubtola: So I got exclusive footage. Zoe Stumbaugh: Highly recommend this place, guys? Colby Cubtola: Well yeah, I think this was the coolest spot we hit today. Johnny Schaer: Yeah, and there's so much more to explore in here, this place is huge. Zoe Stumbaugh: Yeah. Colby Cubtola: Yeah. We need more daylight. Johnny Schaer: We hit, I don't know, like four spots all [crosstalk 00:05:54]. Colby Cubtola: Yeah, we might need to slow down a little bit.
