Dawn on Cecilia Metella, Rome
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Contributor 360roma brings us this excellent aerial view of Rome's Tomb of Caecilia Metella, one of the most important ancient ruins sites in the Eternal City. It's a first century BC mausoleum dedicated to the daughter of one of the city's leaders during the waning days of the Republic. It's located just outside of central Rome on the Via Appia, at about the 5 km (around 3 mi.) mark. It's considered one of the top attractions on the ancient road, which connected Rome to Southern Italy.
