Episode 1 on my Disconnect Series where we travel to places off the beaten path.
Siquijor is the third smallest province in the Philippines, in terms of population as well as land area. The Spaniards called the island Isla del Fuego or Island of Fire, because of the eerie glow from the swarms of fireflies abundant in the island. Siquijor's long-time reputation as a place of magic and sorcery both attracts and repulses visitors. The island has lush greenery, powdery white sand, and abundant marine life, and minimal amount of tourists which is a great place to disconnect.
