Lake Misurina is the largest natural lake of the Cadore and it is 1,754 m above sea level, near Auronzo di Cadore (Belluno). The lake's perimeter is 2.6 km long, while the maximum depth is 5 m. Lago di Braies / Pragser Wildsee is one of the most beautiful lakes in Italy. Located at an altitude of about 1,500 m above sea level in the picturesque Alta Pusteria / Hochpustertal, the mountain lake captivates with its turquoise-green colour and the imposing Seekofel massif (2,810 m) that surrounds it. Is an attraction for recreation seekers, nature lovers and hikers, in both summer and winter. The lake, with an average depth of 17 m, measures 36 m at its lowest point. Even though Braies lake is listed amongst the bathing lakes of South Tyrol, only a few hardy people dare to jump into the cool waters. Lago di Dobbiaco is a very special destination in every season. Especially in spring and autumn, Toblacher See with its diverse shore vegetation, is an ideal nesting and resting place for waterfowl and migratory birds. You can observe rare species of birds that are only occasionally found in South Tyrol. It is best is from the observation deck, which is located on the western shore of the lake. In summer, of course, the lake is great for cooling off on hot days: boating or a nature trail, with 11 stations, which provides a wonderful insight into the fauna and flora of this area, and children (and adults) can jump about with wild animals. The nature trail is only 2.5 km long and is accessible for pushchairs. The Auronzo Lake also known as Lake Santa Caterina is an artificial lake that is located near the town of Auronzo di Cadore in the Dolomites in the province of Belluno. The dam itself is 55 meters high, 35 meters thick at the base and 5.5 at the top. The work ended in January 1932.
