Congratulations to our Drone Video of the Week September Week 1 Winner Saba, Caribbean Paradise 4K reefs and rainforests | Scuba Diving and Drone by Jturner! Video creator, Joshua Turner, said that for him the biggest challenge for filming with the drone on Saba was the high winds. He had to be very careful and always fly up wind in the beginning of his flights to make sure he could get the drone back. The winds at the top of the volcano consistently reached 40-50mph so he had to be careful and always be sure that his drone was able to fight the wind whenever he flew higher up. His challenge in editing was to find a way to seamlessly transition between aerial, ground, and especially underwater shots without the transitions seeming awkward or out of place. Joshua said it’s easy to edit a video with just drone clips but blending aerial footage with other footage can be difficult to do well.
