You voted, AirVuz Community. Congratulations to Nicolas Gaillard, your video FPV - Maiden Flight just won you $1K! Nicolas has been a camera drone pilot for years, but is new to FPV and says he’s loved the challenge of learning how to fly mini quads with the goggles on. As an engineering student, he says he enjoys building his quad - the one he used in the film was a 6 inch frame he built himself with a GoPro Hero 6 mounted on top. The first take off with his new quad was nerve racking, but all the hours he put in on his simulator helped him keep his drone in the air. At least, for a few minutes! This is Nicolas’s first upload to AirVuz, but it’s already been featured in our Aerial Views of the Alps Collection. Keep up the fantastic work, Nicolas! Thank you to everyone who voted. CONGRATULATIONS NICOLAS GAILLARD. HIS DRONE VIDEO “FPV – MAIDEN FLIGHT” IS THIS WEEK’S WINNER." "NICOLAS SAID HE WAS A LONG TIME DRONE PILOT FLYING DJI DRONES, BUT THIS WAS HIS FIRST TIME FLYING FPV. IT WAS A CHALLENGE FOR HIM TO LEARN HOW TO FLY THESE DRONES, BUT HE LOVED EVERY ASPECT OF IT AND HE TRAINED FOR ABOUT 2O HOURS WITH A SIMULATOR BEFORE HIS FIRST FLIGHT! NICOLAS IS AN ENGINEERING STUDENT THAT LOVES CRAFTING THINGS, SO BUILDING THE CUSTOM 6 INCH QUADCOPTER WAS EXCITING FOR HIM." "HE SAID THE FIRST TAKE OFF WAS NERVE-RACKING, BUT ALL THOSE HOURS ON THE SIMULATOR PAID OFF AND HE DIDN’T CRASH… AT LEAST FOR A FEW MINUTES. THIS VIDEO IS THE RESULT OF HIS FIRST WEEK FLYING FPV IN THE FRENCH ALPS. CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN TO NICOLAS GAILLARD! AND THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO VOTED! KEEP UPLOADING YOUR DRONE VIDEOS TO AIRVUZ.COM FOR YOUR CHANCE TO BE DRONE VIDEO OF THE WEEK. AND REMEMBER IT DOESN’T END THERE! THESE VIDEOS GO ON TO COMPETE FOR DRONE VIDEO OF THE MONTH SO STAY TUNED TO AIRVUZ.COM FOR THAT EPISODE. HAPPY FLYING, EVERYONE."
