he lesser known AKASA GANGAI falls located in Kolli hillls, tamilnadu is a beauty fit enough to be called as the Victoria falls of south India. It is located in the Kolli hills ecoconservation range, a part of Eastern ghats located in the namakkal district, tamilnadu. The place is well connected by roads from salem and Chennai. The trek to the falls involving climbing down a hill , the trek is a well laid stair path which has a little over 1000 steps and the last mile involves trekking on rocks to reach the waterfall. The waterfall is a sight to watch with milky spray of the waterfall reaching as far as 500 metres from the waterfall. The beginning point of the trek is from the ancient Arapaleshwarar temple. The trek can be physically demanding particularly the climb back so be mindful of your fitness before you venture down. All along the trek you ll be greeted by themajestic beauty of the lush green untouched kolli hills. The waterfall falls from a height of over 500 ft and is a treat to watch . The beauty of the falls is that in most such high waterfalls it is impossible to have a shower, but here fortunately with the help of ropes which takes you to the base of the waterfall one can have a shower in waterfall like no other in India.
