An indoor/outdoor sub 3" prop drone that can stabily and manueverably carry TWO GoPros at once with unobstructed views, has longe range radio link and high strength video signal.. all with a 4 minute flight time.. WIN!! I started this as a personal project with the intention of creating the smallest flying platform that I could use to hold a full GoPro with stability. I wanted it to use mostly indoors, thru small gaps and around slower objects.. My inspiration was of course the Shendrones "Squirt" because that thing is awesome! and currently one of the smallest platforms available for a full GoPro. The Squirt can only hold one GoPro outdoors tho and it's flight times aren't the greatest.. I even read that it can barely get up if at all without those brittle ducts because they create something like 20%ish more thrust that is necassary to lift the weight! So going into this I really thought it couldn't get much better than that and I just wanted something similar.. So I scouted current available parts that I could modify to achieve something similar to the Squirt while trying out a few ideas of my own.. I built it and with one full GoPro in a TPU case with a glass ND filter I tested it and that was my previous video "FPV BABY" that has since gotten featured by AirVuz and received a lot of positive attention in the FPV community.. My wife on the other hand (along with others closest to me that dont fly) said that it was really cool, but they could tell the footage was "reversed" and that it would be way cooler if the subjects were moving in forward time.. That got me THINKING.. Should I flip the GoPro backwards and get that backwards shot but not be able to see or get the forward view in HD? I thought about it and it's actually still a viable option even on the squirt! ..but what if you could get BOTH! This idea crossed my mind and quckly became a laugh to myself as I literally thought it wouldn't even leave the ground and if it did it wouldn't be stable and it DEFINETELY would push way too many amps and kill the battery in 10 seconds.. But, as a person in a quest for answers, I tried it anyway. Two GoPros, one in a full case, both with glass ND filters, OUTDOORS and my mind was BLOWN. Not only did it lift BOTH cameras.. but it did it NIMBLY! I could only tell a slight difference in performance and I had to double check my timer when I landed because it said 4 MINUTES!! Think of how much you can do with 4 minutes of two cameras, 2 angles, EACH in 4k both getting the SAME moment?! 360 cams?! The creative possibilities of this micro rig are huge! ..in "one-take" situations, and just think if you PLANNED anything?! I tested the dual camera set up inside my house also and it flies so good indoors with two, I went thru the same tight gaps as in the FPV BABY video and although heavier, the extra weight felt like it even further stabilized the flight performance and smoothness of the aircraft.. With this awesome payload ability too, when it only has 1 gopro on it this thing flies almost like a big quad.. I've been flying it on Level Mode when indoors for extra precision, but I found when I flew outdoors that Acro Mode was much much smoother (as you can see in this video, I tried both outdoors and level is when it's shakier..I HAVE NOT tuned this quad at all yet tho and/or it could be the 30mph winds this day. Indoors is not shaky on level mode).. This footage is completely unstabilized to show what is coming from the cameras. A few stabilized test shots are at the very end of this video. Like I said I went into this project to build one for myself that would carry one similiarly to the Squirt and I never dreamt of it being able to do this stuff and because it's doing said cool stuff I've recently received a lot of questions from you guys on what kind of equipment and modifications I've done.. It's not rocket science (or maybe it kind of is lol) but I'm going to make a detailed video describing the exact parts, modifications, and set-up I am using for this so you can make an exact replica of what I am using here. So STAY TUNED to my channel for that VIDEO COMING SOON!! PS. I am not sponsored or endorsed in any way, shape, or form.. I am just a father of an amazing two-year-old girl that is following my passion of FPV in the little free time I get.. All parts I've chosen to use are because of their current design/abilty/performance/ability-for-modication for this specific situation. I am on my own here so if any brands/companies want to get ahold of me to start making some of the required modifications stock for you guys or if any 3D printing guys want to help with a few ideas I still have for it I'm sure you guys would appreciate being able to get one easier! Fly like a bird, people!
