Embalse de Sau

One of the more unique attractions of northeastern Spain is a partially sunken church called Sant Romá de Sau.  This former church and the millennium-old city that used to surround it were intentionally flooded in the 1960’s when a dam was built on the Terrain River.  As seen in this drone video by Kris-Tof, all that remains is the tip of the church's Romanesque bell tower peaking above the waterline.  The former town is located in the pre-Pyrenees foothills just west of the Catalan capital city of Barcelona.
