The South Fork of the Yuba River has beautiful pools of clear water pouring over huge granite boulders. This part of the river can be found at an area just below Lake Spaulding. This is a popular hiking area with numerous swimming holes. This is a great destination during the warmer months when the water flow is slow and warm. All of this area is very rugged, requiring caution and good foot wear. I had to get up early and get there before all of the hikers and swimmers. Unfortunately, the lighting was not perfect, but I had to do with what I was given. It is much better to not have a bunch of people in the shot. Due to the deep canyon walls I had to fly without much help from GPS, so some of the footage is a little rough. I had to stay out of the trees and still get a good view of the water. In the end all is good, and a great morning in the outdoors.
