Locations include San José de los Laureles in Morelos, Tijuana in Baja California, Oaxaca and Cuilapam in Oaxaca, Acuña in Coahuila, Valle de Bravo in Estado de México, Cueztalan in Puebla, and many more. The opening beach scene is from Manzanillo; this was the filming location for the famous scene in the 1979 movie 10 in which Bo Derek runs down the beach.
