This is a controlled burn conducted by Caprock Canyons State Park. They burned nearly 2,000 acres of land. This is done intentionally to preserve the natural areas ecosystem. Burning the land reduces chances of wildfires by destroying existing dead and dormant vegetation. This fire was filmed with the DJI Mavic Pro and the Cannon Rebel T6.
