Flamingos at Paralimni Lake | Cyprus 2026 | Mavic 4 Pro

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

AirVuz contributor Sidsmith85 earned a Drone Video of the Week Finalist spot with this excellent video from the Mediteranean island of Cyprus.  The focus of the video is the large migratory flamingo population on Paralimni Lake, which is located a bit north of the Ayia Napa area on the southeastern side of the island.  The small lake is one of the few wetlands areas left on Cyprus, as development has consumed much of the island's habitats which have helped to sustain bird life in the eastern Mediterranean.

BADGES THIS VIDEO HAS EARNED:

For New Year’s I decided to escape the noise, salads and fireworks — and spend the holidays surrounded by flamingos and Cypriot cats 🐈 During the holiday days I visited Paralimni Lake, where I filmed hundreds of graceful flamingos in calm winter light. This video is dedicated to these incredible birds and the peaceful atmosphere of the place. I also made a short trip to the Troodos Mountains, trying my luck to reach Mount Olympus. Cyprus showed its contrasts once again — from +20°C by the sea to +1°C and snow in the mountains. With summer tires, the summit had to wait for another time ❄️ This video is very different from my usual dynamic and fast-paced travel edits. This time, I was truly resting — slowing down, enjoying the sea, nature, and the moment itself. The footage was filmed using a DJI Mavic 4 Pro, taking advantage of its zoom camera to capture the birds from a closer distance while keeping a respectful and safe space, without disturbing them. Sometimes the best footage is not about speed or adrenaline — but about calm, balance, and being present.
