Malawi, is a land-locked country in the southeastern part of the continent; roughly a third of its area is taken up by Lake Malawi. Sierra Leone, recently returned to peace, is a nation which sits near the southwestern extreme of West Africa. Uganda is another landlocked country, located in east-central Africa. The last, Swaziland, is also landlocked and sits to the south of Malawi.
