Flying over Bagan, Myanmar

Check out this fantastic DVOW nominated video of the "Sacred Plain" of Bagan in the Southeast Asian country of Myanmar, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot Travel Imagez. Located on a bend of the Irrawaddy River in the western part of the country, the plain was the heart of the powerful Pagan Kingdom. During the height of the kingdom from the 11th-13th centuries AD, it's estimated that over 10,000 Buddhist temples, pagodas, and monasteries were built; about 4,000 of these structures remain today.
