Gilgit Baltistan by Drone Part 4

This is the first in a series of videos featuring the eastern portion of Gilgit Baltistan Province of Pakistan, namely the area around Skardu, Shigar, and Khaplu.  This landscape is an area of extremes and superlatives.  The video features the world's highest and second highest mountain ranges, the Himalaya and Karakorum, respectively; the second highest plateau in the world, the Deosai Plains; one of the highest concentrations of sand dunes in the world, the Sarfaranga cold desert.   Moreover, the beautiful Shigar valley with its namesake river is seen along with the Shyok Valley and River as well as the mighty Indus River.  This area is the gateway for trekkers to access the world's second highest mountain, K2.
