Goodbye, 5S

2017.
I've been bugging my friend Jesmond since the beginning: I want to fly 6S! I was at the local field 2 years ago flying 4S, when everyone was still toying with their 3S batteries and looking at me as if I was crazy, and I heard so many times "those motors will never hold and are not rated for what you want to do", and "oh my why do you put 4 blades on there you're crazy get a dual bullnose like everyone else", and "you're going to kill your escs and your motors and it's never gonna work".
Well, everything worked out so far guys, thank you.
But it was a long road.
I fired up the simulator that one day, and thanks to Mattystuntz' guidance ("The key to the kingdom my friend!") I found my way flying inverted. What a blast! A revelation.
Embargo on batteries here in Malta. I managed to get 4S LiHV (from Green Gorilla, they took 4 months to arrive) batts to play with -- it was another revelation. But I killed them so quickly, in a matter of days. I then managed to get my hands on those MRP 5S batts the very day they got released -- only to kill them one after the other, days passing. The batteries would puff so much so fast (I knew from their 4S they wouldn't last long) I had to tame down my power train -- from my cherished 5x4x4 to those hefty (but awesome) S5x4x3. Cells would eventually burst one after the other tho.
Well, today is the day: my last valiant 5S battery died - the lightest of them all, the ultra fun 1000mah 65C 5S that was 155grams.
Flying 5S for the past months only taught me a thing: I want to fly 6S! I tried secretely twice a month ago: the quad teleported very high up there, screaming like never before, but then desynced, deathlooped, and somehow I managed to get control back while making this grin of joy. But this was it. That instant power I touched with the 5S and the 5x4x4 and the 2600KV motors, but better. Top end speed? I don't care. I know my heavy rig goes quite fast already. It's all about that instant accessible power. To get out of situations you would normally never get out from.
I'm hoping I can get my next rig '6S stable', and that eventually can find some decent 6S batteries -- because where we go, we don't need roads.
Here is my humble 3:33 tribute to 5S. And to a guy nicknamed Mattystuntz, and another nicknamed Sean. I'm getting there guys. I need some trees now. I'm nobody, but I enjoy pushing it inverted.
