Greenland N71° - Cruising Scoresbysund on the VERA
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Explore the coast of Greenland in this excellent drone video by former Drone Video of the Week Finalist rbendjebar. The video was filmed during the course of a nine day trip around the Scoresby Sound (Scoresby Sund), which is a large system of fjords located about halfway down the island's long eastern coastline. The title of the video suggests just how far north this is - 71 degrees north latitude, hundreds of miles/kilometers north of the Arctic Circle (which lies at about 66.6 degrees north latitude).

This video depicts cruising Scoresbysund for a week on the VERA, a 68 ft Oyster sloop captained by Thorkell Pallson. Scoresbysund is located on the east coast of Greenland and is considered the largest fjord in Greenland. Exploring its many inlets, its immense glaciers and deep passages is a voyage into the history of the Arctic and the experience of a lifetime. From visiting the remote and isolated village of Ittoqqortoormiit to cruising among 2000 meter massifs while avoiding icebergs bigger than apartment buildings in Øfjord this was a unique adventure I will never forget. All footage by DJI Mavic 3 and processed in DaVinci Resolve 18. Soundtrack by Emmanuel Jacob. For information on future trips next year, visit www.veraexpeditions.is
