It's actually in the foothills of the great mountain chain, surrounded by two sub-ranges of the so-called French Prealps to its north and south and the Alps proper to its east. In the video, you'll see the city from the vantage point of all three ranges: the Chartreuse (north), Vercor (south), and Belledonne (east) mountains.
