The Griessee is a reservoir above Ulrichen in the municipality of Obergoms in the canton of Valais. It is located below the Griespass at an altitude of 2386 meters above sea level, making it one of the highest reservoirs in Switzerland. The reservoir is around 900m long and 600m wide and is mainly fed by the Gries glacier. The Griesbach flows out of the mountain lake after the dam. The Griessee was created in the early 1970s with the construction of the Gries dam. The concrete dam of the Gries reservoir is 60m high and 400m wide.
