Growing Up in Florida

Growing up in Florida is like having sand in your carseat at all times and you have drawers filled with bathing suits. You know what type of sunscreen works for your skin, own 100 hats, and when you hear that rumble of thunder in the distance- you know your Mother's rumbling voice screaming is next warning you to come inside. Sometimes, thats scarier than the thunder. Laying on your driveway looking up at the stars is something that you will never forget, or stop doing... You see people fishing, always, everywhere. Even off the side of the road. Alligators and lizards are everywhere, you get to blow your northern cousins minds when they visit. You never get used to the heat, although you carry a sweater in your car because of the freezing air conditioning inside places. And saving the best for last, the Publix subs are almost as satisfying as the laughter and memories made while eating them.
