Praia do Góess is a small beach located in the Brazilian municipality of Guarujá, São Paulo. With 250 meters in length, it is basically inhabited by fishermen and is surrounded by hills covered with Atlantic forest. It is a small beach with calm waters. Access is by boat that leaves the Edgard Perdigão Bridge (Santos) or by trail from Santa Cruz dos Navegantes Beach. Through trails, you can reach Praia do Sangava, located at the exit of Santos Bay, in the southwest of the island, it is a totally deserted beach, with soft and coarse sand, with more than 300m in length. It is a beach with calm and clear waters; the sea is without currents or waves, but it sinks fast (falling). On the rocks, there are some natural pools. The beach looks fantastic, with native vegetation and some rocks in the sand that give the beach a primitive touch. Praia do Góes has a rich history that took place in December 1531, the colonizing expedition led by Martim Afonso de Sousa anchors its ships in front of Praia do Sol (Góis beach), on Santo Amaro Island, then only the following day it crossed the channel thus arriving at one of the ends of the island (the Ponta da Praia), where there was already a port. The fort built there served to support the Fortress of Santo Amaro da Barra Grande to prevent invasions and attacks or even to prevent other vessels from having access to the Bertioga channel. Just to imagine that 550 years ago the beach of Góes was inhabited by Portuguese, the tour becomes much more interesting as it is possible to walk along the trails that the Portuguese themselves made so that they would have access to Fortaleza da Barra. The tour is recommended for people who really enjoy ecotourism, who enjoy hiking or even enjoying what nature can offer as beautiful as the beautiful plants and animals (birds, lizards, fish, etc...), fishing and best of all, the excellent food at the beach restaurants.
