Haludovo Palace Hotel - abandoned five star luxury resort An amazing abandoned mega-complex at the seashore of island Krk, Croatia 15.8.2020. (2020-08-15) Built in 1972, working as luxury holiday resort for world class jet-set, financed by Bob Guccione, founder of Penthouse Magazine who opened The Penthouse Adriatic Club there (my flight is mainly in that part of complex, in the lounge bar). In its golden years in 70's, lot of famous movie stars, politicians and even dictators visited place (there are rumors that even Saddam Hussein was there on a holiday once). Entire complex stopped with business during war in 90's, and since then, even after selling to one Russian tycoon, it is still left to rot and decay :( I whooped only inside lounge bar and outside of main building - place where was the famous Penthouse Adriatic Club - and inside corridor that connects other buildings in complex. Because of lack of time to explore entire complex and because of lot of debris, tons of broken glass, animal feces, piles and clouds of dust, lot of tourists, few DJI Mavic pilots that shot inside and outside and (of course) my lack of skills, I was not brave enough to do some crazy things (worrying I might stuck somewhere where I can't get my whoop back because there are lot of dangerous deep open elevator shafts, deep holes between floors and basement where cement crumbled, piles of dangerous glass and concrete debris etc.). Maybe next time (because I'll definitely plan to go there again - it is really horrifically sad and in the same time stunning bando :( ) For more details about place and pictures from "golden era" of the place, check this site (there are lot of others sites, but this one is in English and explain entire history of the place very well): https://sometimes-interesting.com/2016/04/14/penthouse-adriatic-club-at-the-haludovo-palace-hotel/ Flying videos are not color corrected and it is left in 4:3 - original camera format. Additional videos are taken with my mobile phone and cropped to 4:3 to fit to the entire feeling of whoop videos.
