Hamburg is the second largest metropolitan area in Germany after Berlin.  Situated on the Elbe River, Hamburg is also Germany's largest seaport.  For these reasons, as well as its relative proximity to bomber bases in the UK, Hamburg was heavily damaged by Allied bombing in World War II, and the firebombing of July, 1943 killed approximately 50,000 civilians.  Contributor Elb Cut Media used a DJI Phantom 4 Pro drone to create this beautiful aerial view of the great German city, now fully recovered, at night.
