Happy Life

Took my family out to the playground at a local school and got some flying in while we were there. It's great that my boys are finally getting old enough that we can do something else while we're out than direct supervision! This was great to be able to combine two of my favorite things in life, family and flying! A few notes about the flying here. It's always fun to fly a new spot, but challenging as well! These were my first few packs here and I was a bit disappointed at my use of the space. I'm used to big sky flying, and I'm definitely a bit out of my comfort zone in the proximity work. There's a lot more potential at this spot, I'm definitely going back! I also threw on some props I've never tried before, the HQ 5x4.8x3 V1S. I'm not sure how I feel about them. Parts of the handling are really nice and crisp, but they've got propwash problems that are almost impossible to tune out. It's odd because they are fine above a certain throttle point, but there's this really sharp threshold where propwash just gets really bad really quickly. You can fly around it, but it makes certain types of maneuvers that I'm used to doing really difficult to get clean. I think I'm not going to run them long term. You can really see it in a few spots in this video, and I spent a good bit of time messing with the tune to try to get rid of it.
