On April 14th,1898 the Cotton Brothers of Oakland, California were awarded a contract to build this bridge for $2,248. This historic bridge over Deer Creek is showing its age, but is still beautiful while standing against the forces of nature. It was originally built for wagons to easily cross the creek. It is entrancing to stand near the bridge and to imagine the time when it was new and busy with vehicles crossing the creek. I was introduced to this historic bridge by a filmmaker creating a documentary about Deer Creek. A trailer can be viewed at http://followingdeercreek.com/ An unexpected quirk of this adventure was that due to the bridge's metal construction becoming magnetized, the drone struggled to maintain a straight flight path. Flight required continual adjustments to avoid potentially damaging situations for the drone.
