Last heat from today's regional qualifier in Sacramento. I put a gopro on thinking this would be a throw-away heat, but was surprised that I flew faster with the extra weight! Why? My theories:
1) additional mass made it easier to make small elevation adjustments while staying at high throttle
2) carried more momentum through the large sweeping turns
3) this course didn't have a lot of hairpins
More mass isn't always the right choice, but it can be an aid depending on the track design. I finished in 1st place and won some awesome prizes from Multirotormania.com and hobbytown. Thank you for the prizes!
