Humpback Enters Swimming Area

I captured this humpback whale lunge feeding just 20yards from shore, beach goers were cheering in excitement as big sprays catapulted through her blow holes! She came so close to shore, I was quite concerned she might get hurt by the roped off swimming area for the Bathing Corporation of Southampton. Bathing Corp is a private ocean beach club that has a swimming area roped off in front of their property on the Atlantic Ocean. Fortunately, the humpback whale just nearly missed the ropes twice along her feeding journey. Footage taken this morning, 8/25/24 at Gin Beach Southampton, NY USA
