It's right at the edge of the Vatnajökull National Park, at the head of the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier. The lagoon has been the filming locations for a number of feature movies, notably the 1985 Bond film A View to a Kill; the 2002 Bond installment, Die Another Day; the 2005 superhero film Batman Begins; the 2011 action adventure film Lara Croft: Tomb Raider; and more.
