In Winter We Hunt

Greenlandic Inuit hunter Justus, hunts for seal during the months the sea ice is frozen around his home in the village of Kulusuk. Not every hunt is successful, on this day the hunt was going well, until unusually the seal was lost, sunk before it could be reached by him from his Kayak. Successful hunting will feed his family, and dogs. 

To survive this hostile environment Justus relies on knowledge passed down through the generations. He is one of the few remaining hunters that still hunt with dogs, enjoying the quiet and company that comes with that form of travel. 

In winter he hunts across the ice; in summer, he fishes and hunts by boat, following long established familial migratory routes, living with, and from, the land well known, now rapidly changing.
