Dunvegan Castle is a very popular and busy place - the MacLeods of MacLeod have lived here continuously from 1200. The "bottle neck" prison was 1,8 by 1,2 m and partially below sea level. Prisoners got only salted meat and the kitchen smells were channeled in here. Each new chief had to drink a horn of wine in one draught - the info about the amount varies between 1.1 and almost 2 liters. As the weather was patchy we didn't explore much of the spacious gardens.
