Much of the footage was shot on the island of Sicily, which lies just off the "toe" of Italy and is the largest island in the Mediterranean. Sicily highlights include shots of the coastal town of Mondella in the Palermo Region; the ancient city of Syracuse and its Ortyga Island, on Sicily's eastern shore; Catania, another eastern Sicily port town; and the central Sicily towns of Calascibetta and Enna.
