Johor Bahru is the southernmost major city of Peninsular Malaysia. It lies on the northern side of the Straits of Johor, a narrow body of water which separates the tip of the Malay Peninsula from the island city-state of Singapore. Johor Bahru is the capital of the state of Bohor, which covers the entire southern part of the peninsula.
