Kampa winery is the first and largest wine industry in the Mediterranean of Attica, but also in Greece. Andreas P. Kampas, a troubled businessman of his time, bought with his brother Alexander in 1875 an area of 5,000 acres in the Mediterranean of Attica and was the first to cultivate a large area of vineyards in the area. In the state-of-the-art facilities he built on the Kantza estate and in Gialos (an area belonging to the Spata region), he produced the well-known wine and cognac. Until the late 1990s, it was a vineyard in the middle of which winemaking buildings continued to operate and lead the way in wine and brandy production in the Mediterranean until 2000.
