Kula Fairy Chimneys - 4K
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Here's an amazing aerial view of some stunning rock formations in western Turkey, compliments of top contributor jesus_tr. It's called Yanıkyöre (translated, "burnt land"), and it's a family of volcanic cones near the town of Kula in the Manisa Province. Once virtually unknown, the area has been "discovered" recently and is increasingly seen as a western (Turkey) version of the famous Cappadocia chimneys in Central Anatolia. The area is now part of a geopark which has been certified by UNESCO.

When it comes to fairy chimneys, we all think about Cappadocia in Goreme. However, there are more such volcanic formations in Turkey, for instance in Manisa’s town Kula. After all they pronounce this place as Kuladocia indeed. Maybe it is because of our habit of emulation.
