This is what climate change looks like We have had at best a mediocre winter from a snow perspective in Lake Tahoe area of the Sierras. We are at about 30% of normal snow fall for this time of year. But the next 10 days may make up for it. At the lake they are predicting nearly 100 inches of snow and along the crest close to 150 (we will see if it really materializes). And in the foothills they are talking about 6 to 7 inches of rain. According to the experts this is what we can expect from Climate Change. Long periods of dry...and then very wet. We are delighted to see the snow...it will definitely help with the drought that California is moving into once again. But...if we let these trends continue...we will see more and more dramatic fluctuations...whether it's rain associated with hurricanes in the gulf, or feast and famine cycles in the Sierras. Lets work together to help ensure that we have a sustainable climate for future generations. In the meantime...let it snow....
