Le Château de Villebois-Lavalette

A first motte and wooden castle was erected in the year 959.During the Middle Ages, the castle evolved and now became made of stone, surrounded by an enclosure bristling with seven towers.Several families have since succeeded one another.Today, the Castle is open to the public and is classified as a Historic Monument.
