Shasta Lake is one of our families favorite places to houseboat in Northern California. We have been coming here for more than 50 years. I used a drone to capture a general view of the hike and slide. The only way to really enjoy this place is to hike the creek back to the slide and swimming hole. I took some video with my phone to partially show the beauty of this place. We have been trying to keep some of these amazing place’s secret, but the internet has made many of these places easy to find. This natural water slide is about a 20-minute hike from the lake’s shore. It is at the end of Little Backbone Creek. The best way to access the falls is by boat. Little Backbone Creek is located across from Digger Bay. This slide and swimming hole is best enjoyed midweek late summer or early fall after most of the crowds have subsided. During peak periods this place is very popular.
