Llynnau Mymbyr Beautiful Llynnau Mymbyr, set amongst Snowdonia's highest peaks, are also known as the Capel Curig Lakes and are around 3/4 mile long, with a depth of 30 feet. The lakes are situated just outside the village of Capel Curig on the road to the Llanberis Pass (A4086). A delta halfway along the north shore, dissects the lakes. From the lakes there are magnificent views of the rugged mountain scenery across its waters to the Snowdon Horseshoe and the peaks of Grib Goch (3023ft/ 921mts); Crib y Ddysgl (3493ft/ 1065mts); Snowdon (3560ft/ 1085mts) and Lliwedd (2947ft/ 898mts) The river feeding the lakes is the Nantygwryd (or Nant-y-gwryd), which source is to be found at at Llyn Cwm-y-ffynnon, which is a tributary of the Afon Llugwy. The two rivers meet at Capel Curig. The lakes are now frequently used for canoeing activities by the Plas y Brenin and Local Education Authorities. source: http://www.snowdoniaguide.com/llyn_mymbyr.htm video song details Jaunty Gumption by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Source: http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?isrc=USUAN1300017 Artist: http://incompetech.com/ My personnal experience about this location A beautiful location for sightseeing and photographers. Car parking is a bit of a hassle as you will have to park on the road side. You might see parked cars in my video. However, the road is not a very busy road and I should think its safe to leave to your cars locked. Once you get in through gates, I saw people swimming, walking and also having picnic. Most of the lake is surrounded by breathtaking woods. A very relaxing place to spend quality time Video recorded using DJI Phantom 3 4k drone Date of recording: 24th July 2017 Thank you for viewing my video and being a subscriber of my channel.
