Not far from the mainland, from Largo Ardito, you can see the islet of San Paolo or Scoglio dell'Eremita majestic and solitary. This rock formation that emerges from the water for about thirty meters in height, owes its name to the ancient legend that tells of a mysterious character who had chosen this rock to lead a solitary and contemplative life. In this rock the Corsican seagull nests, technically known as "Larus Audounii", considered the most beautiful among the European seagulls. It is noted for its slender and slender build and for its smaller size and is equipped with a coral red beak with a black tip and a white plumage.
