Locked Down in Blue Planet

2021 has been a strange year in Sydney. Having escaped the brunt of the COVID-19 virus in 2020, Australia seemed to be a world away from the restrictions of lockdown and mandatory masks. That all changed in June, however, as the Delta strain brought the country to a halt once again. Residents of Sydney (and wider NSW) have been locked down since late then and constrained to a 5km radius for most of that time. Luckily for those that live on the coast, that 5km radius happens to contain a breathtaking array of wildlife, especially during the winter months. The water is clear, the fish abundant and the humpback highway is in full effect. Locked Down in Blue Planet was filmed within a 5km radius of Bronte Beach, in Sydney's eastern suburbs, and was created to bring attention to our beautiful marine world and away from the increasingly stressful COVID-19 environment.
