Lough Ennell | Mullingar | Co. Westmeath | Ireland

Lough Ennell (Irish: Loch Ainninn) is a lake near the town of Mullingar, County Westmeath, Ireland. It is situated beside the N52 road, off the Mullingar/Kilbeggan road. It is 6.5 km long by 2 km wide, with an area of about 12 km². Many of the islands on the lake have been identified as crannogs, although complete excavation has not yet been carried out. Eight islands on the lake have been identified in The Annals of Westmeath each varying in historical importance. Location: Lough Ennell | Mullingar | Co.
